PACE 10 Partners Council

The PACE 10 Partners Council was established in December 2004 to enhance KUB’s PACE 10 program and improve water quality in Knoxville by increasing awareness and building consensus through our community. The council members, as community representatives, provide assistance to KUB in seeking common ground with other interested parties in developing comprehensive approaches to resolving water quality issues in Knoxville’s waterways. The members also provide feedback and input to KUB regarding its efforts to comply with regulatory requirements from the State of Tennessee and the U.S. Environment Protection Agency related to wastewater system operations. In addition to this advisory role, the Council members assist in communicating information back to the groups they represent, ensuring that the larger community will grow in its understanding of the issues being addressed by the Council.

The Council represents the many types of interest groups that have identifiable concerns about the future of the Knoxville’s water quality. These groups included health care and public health, local government, human service agencies, environmental groups, neighborhood and homeowner groups, economic development groups, large wastewater customers, and KUB staff.

Initial Council members terms are three years each. Afterward, terms will be staggered so that one-third of the members will have terms expiring each year.
